John 14:6
The Jesus of the Bible
He is not a spirit brother who earned his way to godhood. He is God the Son, who became man, died for sinners and rose again, and gives eternal life as a free gift.
He is God, from all eternity
John begins before creation: the Word was with God and the Word was God, and everything was made through him. Then the Word became flesh. Jesus is not a being who became divine; he is God who became human.
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made through him. Without him, nothing was made that has been made.

He finished the work
On the cross Jesus said It is finished. Hebrews says he offered one sacrifice for sins forever and sat down, because the work was complete. Nothing remains for us to add.
30When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

12but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God, 13from that time waiting until his enemies are made the footstool of his feet. 14For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

Salvation is a gift
Eternal life is not the reward of a worthy life or of temple covenants. It is the free gift of God in Christ Jesus our Lord, received by trusting him.
23For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

You can know
John wrote so that those who believe in the name of the Son of God may know that they have eternal life. Not hope, not one day, but know, now.
11The testimony is this: that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn’t have God’s Son doesn’t have the life. 13These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

Come as you are
Jesus invites the weary and burdened, and promises rest. Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Talk to God in your own words; he hears you. If you would like to talk with a person, our live chat is open.
28“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

9that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. 11For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.” 12For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him. 13For, “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
